Renovation of a 3+kk apartment into a barrier-free apartment, Prague

The project represents the transformation of a standard 3+kk apartment into modern barrier-free living designed for the daily life of a person in a wheelchair with assistance. The goal of the entire reconstruction was to create a functional, safe, and comfortable space that simultaneously feels fresh, young, and respects the individual needs of its owner.

The reconstruction included modifying the apartment layout, primarily enlarging the existing bathroom, expanding several door openings, and opening up the space overall to better adapt the apartment for barrier-free use. The project also included completely new distributions throughout the entire residential unit and the subsequent furnishing of the interior with custom furniture, selected standard elements, textiles, and accessories.

The project was carried out according to the interior designer’s design, with an emphasis on connecting functionality, aesthetics, and everyday practicality. As part of this order, our company performed complete electrical installation work throughout the entire apartment. The electrical installation was adapted to the new layout solution, the interior design, and specific requirements for comfortable and safe use of the space.

Our work included the preparation and installation of new electrical distributions, adjusting the placement of end elements, installing sockets and switches, and preparing lighting cables according to the interior design. Emphasis was placed on the practical placement of electrical elements so that they meet the needs of barrier-free living and allow for comfortable daily use.

As part of the electrical installation, the connection and wiring of lighting fixtures were also addressed, along with preparation for selected design elements and coordination with subsequent interior furnishings. The work was performed so that the technical solution did not disrupt the clean look of the interior while simultaneously meeting requirements for functionality, safety, and long-term use of the apartment.

The result is a modern barrier-free apartment that combines a practical technical solution with a sensitively designed interior, creating a pleasant home adapted to the daily needs of its owner.
